THE FRANCQUI PRIZE

Presentation

The Francqui Prize occupies a prominent position in Belgian and international scholary and scientific university life.  This prize is awarded by the Francqui Foundation. 

The Francqui Prize is awarded each year in recognition of the achievements of a young Belgian scholar or scientist.

It is the King's privilege to present the Francqui Prize personnaly, during a ceremony which takes place on the premises of the University Foundation in Brussels.

The Francqui Prize represents a sum of 150.000 euro.

The Board of Directors can also provide de Laureate with additional funds 25.000 euros to be used to support his/her scholarly of scientific work or that of his/her team.  He/She is asked to organize an International symposium in the appropriate discipline later in the year.
