THE "INTERNATIONAL" FRANCQUI CHAIRS
|

Two or more Belgian universities may propose jointly that a foreign scientist be invited to Belgium. This person is then provided with an "International Francqui Chair". One of the inviting universities is chosen to handle the administrative course of this invitation, as the "Host Institution". These Chairs cover an uninterrupted stay of the invited scientist at the inviting universities, for a period of six months. Proposals for Francqui-Chairs originate from
universities, which are invited to do so at regular intervals. The
attribution of the Chairs is the privilege of the Board of Directors
of the Foundation. The Foundation covers the expenses resulting from
the organization of these Chairs, after approval of a budget, which
is to be introduced by the inviting universities. * * * N.B. :Except for the recipient of the Francqui Prize, who must be a Belgian national, non-Belgians who are attached regularly with a Belgian Institution since five years at least as equivalent to Belgian nationals. * * * At the end of this mandate, a final report is expected
