Considérant que les travaux de M.
Thinès en psychologie générale et comparée, et plus particulièrement
dans l'application des sciences du comportement à l'étude de l'évolution,
ont apporté une contribution exceptionnelle à nos connaissances en ce
domaine,
considérant que sa compétence dans
des techniques à la fois physiques et biologiques l'a mis à même de
mettre au point des procédés expérimentaux d'une grande précision qui
ont abouti à des résultats originaux, spécialement dans l'étude de la
perception,
considérant qu'il a été un des
fondateurs de la psychologie animale en Belgique et que la multiplicité
des voies ouvertes par le candidat a donné un prestige incontesté à
l'Ecole belge de psychologie comparée,
décide de conférer le Prix Francqui
1971 à Monsieur Georges Thinès, Professeur à la Faculté de psychologie
et des sciences de l'éducation de l'Université Catholique de Louvain.
