In overweging nemende dat zijn werk
alle respect afdwingt en met uitsluitend zuiver wetenschappelijke
bedoelingen, in alle eenvoud en onbaatzuchtig werd uitgevoerd;

fundamentele belang van zijn ontdekking voor het meer algemene probleem
van de uitwisseling van genetische informatie tussen levende organismen;
in overweging nemende de geheel
nieuwe inzichten die zijn onderzoek in deze materie opent;

stimulerende invloed op collega's medewerkers en leerlingen, zowel in
België als in het buitenland;
