Considérant que Monsieur Franz CUMONT s'est distingué, d'entre les savants de notre époque, par l'étendue de son savoir, la sûreté souvent géniale de ses intuitions, l'originalité de ses découvertes, où la chance heureuse n'eut qu'une part restreinte, la clarté et l'élégance de son style,

considérant qu'il a récemment encore apporté à la science des contributions importantes qui ont augmenté le prestige international de la Belgique,

décide de conférer le Prix Francqui 1936 à Monsieur le Professeur Franz CUMONT.
